Carol Ysidro, DDS

Everyone should be able to feel good about their oral health and smile confidently. Being a dentist gives me the opportunity to restore worn or broken-down smiles. The beautiful, healthy smile that I can give to someone will allow them to feel good about themselves. That smile is one that will then be passed along to many others.

As a young adult, I had two wonderful dentists I admired and looked up to. I appreciated the kindness and gentleness they showed me during my dental visits. They even encouraged me to go to dental school. To this day, I continue to remember how much I appreciated their care. I always try to make sure that the depth and sincerity of their dedication to their patients’ well-being and comfort is replicated in my own work with my patients and the welcoming environment we have fostered here.

I work with a fantastic team of dental professionals. They are highly-skilled, family-oriented, and caring individuals.  We attend continuing education seminars and conferences together. The dental professional team is not only well-educated and knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry but they are also warm and genuinely happy individuals. This is reflected in the quality of care all of us strive to deliver.

I look forward to meeting you and your family, and to giving you a beautiful healthy smile in the most gentle, conservative way.

I grew up in Wichita and moved to Derby in 1985. My husband and I have one son, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and three wonderful grandchildren. Our family also includes our precious adopted tuxedo cat, and adopted tabby cat, and two highly energetic Australian shepherds.

In my spare time, I love being outdoors, hanging out with family and friends, gardening, watching all the different critters that frequent my bird feeders, and riding my Harley motorcycle.

I am very fortunate to be able to use some of what I have learned in my professional life to help others. Toward that end, I first began volunteering as a dental student, and I continue to volunteer for many dental outreach programs that provide dental services to underserved individuals.

As someone with a deep love for animals, I am also a longtime supporter of the Kansas Humane Society, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and LL Dog Rescue in Shawnee Mission.

Omar Barakeh, DDS

I enjoy all aspects of my profession. But the joy I receive from working with patients to achieve their oral health and cosmetic dental goals means everything to me. There is nothing more exciting than when I see patients truly happy with their smile results. Working with each patient and getting to know them as a fully-rounded person allows me to learn new things every day. I am honored to develop friendships with my patients, and I am proud to provide them with the dental and oral care that they need.

As a dentist, I believe in open communication between myself and those I treat. It is essential that every patient knows they can come to me with questions and concerns and that they will be heard. I strive to make sure that each patient has the information required to make educated decisions about their dental care, and I spend time talking with them about treatment options and the positive and negative aspects of each. Working together and giving patients the knowledge that they need ensures the best outcome.

Our dental professionals have a great sense of responsibility to those we treat. We take the time to answer questions and address concerns. Patients and their families recognize immediately from the moment they step into our practice that the quality of their experience here is of paramount importance to us. Our concern for patient comfort begins in the reception area, and it continues through our treatment spaces and operatories. We are dedicated to painless dental care, using proven, leading-edge processes and techniques that guarantee that a visit to our practice is a positive experience.

My educational background includes:

  • University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry – Doctorate of Dental Surgery, 2007

Staying up-to-date with the latest improvements and advances in my profession, as well as pursuing advanced technical training, broadens the range of options that I can present to my patients. Therefore, I avidly pursue coursework, seminars, lectures, and conferences that are relevant to my profession and the needs of my patients. Courses I have taken include Invisalign® orthodontic treatments and mini dental implant training. I have also performed a residency in dental implantology.

A professional’s commitment to their discipline and those they serve is demonstrated by their willingness to work to remain continually aware of what is happening in their field. Through relationships with fellow dental providers and exchanges of information in various venues, I am able to stay abreast of clinical, technical, and research developments.

My professional affiliations include:

  • American Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry

I have called Wichita, KS, my home for the many years. My wife, our child, and I love our community, and we enjoy exploring all that the area has to offer. I am also an avid fan of many sports.

My love for my community compels me to offer my skills outside of work in ways that I hope will be to the benefit of its members. I am active in improving the dental awareness and health in our local community by participating in many dental outreach activities. Included among these is Give Kids a Smile, a program that offers a wide range of oral healthcare services to underserved youth. I also participate in the Kansas Mission of Mercy, which is part of the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation and a group that provides dental care and treatment to those who might not otherwise have access to it.

I am glad to be part of a practice that provides the best dental treatment available to our patients and our community. It is great that we care for so many of our neighbors and friends. As the business manager for Dental Professionals LLC, I oversee all of our departments. This ensures that our office runs smoothly so that the doctors and team are able to concentrate on delivering the highest quality dental care.

Outside of work, I enjoy hotrods and motorcycle trips with my wife. I also like gatherings with family and friends, and BBQing.

I am grateful to be a part of this wonderful office since we opened in 2006. I have an Associate in Applied Science and Bachelor of Business Administration. Over the years, I have met so many wonderful patients and the friendships that have developed are near and dear to my heart. To work among a group of professionals who have an immeasurable passion for dentistry and work seamlessly together, is priceless. Our doctors and team go above and beyond to make sure our patients receive the best care possible. I believe remarkable things do not happen by one person alone, but by a team of remarkable people.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband. We have two daughters and three dogs — Buddy, Scooby, and Bruce. I enjoy watching football, shopping, weightlifting, and traveling to see my daughter and son-in-law.

I gained experience in patient coordinating and orthodontic assisting for over four years before joining Dental Professionals LLC in 2019. Here at our office, I answer incoming phone calls, review financial obligations with patients, confirm benefit information and co-pays with insurance companies, and confirm appointments. I love it here because we work so well as a team and help each other out all the time, and our doctors are so easygoing and kind. My favorite part of my job is getting to work with positive team members and getting to know the patients. I learn something different every day, which helps me grow and reach my goals to become a better team member.

While I am not at work, I spend my time with my husband and two boys. We enjoy staying active whether it’s playing outside, going on adventures with the boys or running with Barkley, our sweet golden doodle. Family is my world!

Dentistry is such an interesting field and I have always been drawn to it. I have worked in a specialist office as well as private general practice and enjoyed them both. My role at Dental Professionals is so rewarding! I enjoy making sure our patients are scheduled in a timely manner to address their needs as well as making sure they understand the recommended treatment. Dental Professionals is a wonderful place to work! Our doctors go above and beyond to make sure the patient has the best individualized care. I love working with an office where we get to know our patients and build relationships. My favorite part of my job is meeting new people and seeing them happy with their results. I look forward to seeing my co-workers everyday and as a team; we are changing lives one smile at a time!

Outside the office you will find me on the golf course with my family, cheering on our kiddos on the soccer field, or spending weekends at the farm. My husband and I enjoy taking road trips with our 2 children, attending hockey games, or hanging out at home with our 3 dogs. We live in Rose Hill and love the small-town vibe!

Since I was 8 years old, I knew I wanted to work in the dental field. I graduated from Platt College, Oklahoma City in Dental Assisting and started my dental career in 2009. I have been fortunate to work in most aspects of dental care from clinical to administrative and management. At Dental Professionals I currently schedule appointments, calculate co-payments and verify insurance eligibility. I enjoy explaining treatment, helping to maximize benefits and getting to know our patients. I love that everyone here goes above and beyond to provide a great patient experience from check-in to check-out, and everywhere in between. The team feels like family and everyone is willing to help where needed to make sure our patients receive the best care possible.

I am a Kansas native, raised in a small town and have traveled all over. After my husband got out of the military, we chose Derby as our home. I enjoy fishing, hunting, classic cars and spending time with family and friends.

Following graduation from the WATC- Dental Assistant program in 2007, I joined Dental Professionals as Dr Ysidro’s certified dental assistant. In 2018, I moved from the clinical aspect of the office to the administrative side as the insurance coordinator. Each day I verify insurance, follow up with patients on any insurance changes, file claims, receive payments and correspond with insurance companies as needed. I enjoy interacting with our patients, reviewing dental insurance information with them, and educating patients on their treatment needs. I want each of our patients to have the best possible visit, every time.

I have lived in Derby since 2007. I enjoy traveling with my son, reading mysteries and true crime, cooking, and going to the movies.

I graduated in 2013 from WATC-Dental Assistant program in and 2019 started with the Gerety Orthodontic program. I have been with this amazing dental team since 2014, who share the same passion as I do about our patient’s oral health, great smiles and providing high quality care. I enjoy seeing a patient’s happy, healthy smile at the end of a visit and hearing from our patients that it was a positive experience. I enjoy being a part of smile transitions and sharing the journey with our patients as they complete their orthodontic treatment.

My husband, and biggest supporter through my dental assisting education, and my daughter Araceli, are my everything. We live in Wichita with our dog Cash and guinea pig Layla. In my free time I enjoy traveling with family, interior decorating, cooking and a great Raiders game!

As a certified dental assistant, I work one-on-one with dentists to complete treatments for patients. I have been working in the dental field ever since I graduated from WSU Tech’s Dental Assisting Program in 2019. After graduating, I obtained my dental assisting certification from the Dental Assisting National Board and started my journey with Dental Professionals, LLC. I love that I work with doctors that are passionate about providing the best care and treatment options for our patients. My fellow team members are amazing at helping each other. I also love meeting all our patients!

My husband and I have two dogs, a German Shepherd, and a Lab and Great Dane mix. I like to travel, to read, to watch movies with my husband, and to bake and spend time with my family.

Knowing that I can provide each of our patients with excellent care and being able to work alongside our doctors as they help our patients develop beautiful smiles is very rewarding. Some of my work involves ensuring everything is set up and ready for treatment, performing instrument sterilization, and assisting with orthodontic and restorative care. I graduated in 2004 from WATC – Dental Assistant program and worked in a pediatric office before joining Dental Professionals in 2009. I love our office and our dental team. Many of us have worked together since I started in this office, and I enjoy being part of such a skillful, professional team. As a full-time, working mother, I appreciate how great our doctors are at working with our younger patients. They are gentle and reassuring, and kids like coming in for their appointments.

I live in Wichita, married to my high-school sweetheart, and we have four children. I enjoy collecting make-up, watching YouTube, and taking long drives with my family. Derby is a beautiful city and I’m proud to call it my home away from home.

I attended the Bryan Institute and have been working in the dental field since 1987. I joined Dental Professionals LLC in 2019, where I prepare patients and rooms for our dentists and assist during procedures. I absolutely love making people happy and giving them beautiful teeth and smiles! Everyone here is so helpful and willing to jump in and help each other out, including the dentists.

Outside of the office, I am a single mom of a teenage son. I also have one cat and a German Shepherd. I enjoy bike riding, working out, and, most of all, swimming and sunshine.

I work chairside assisting our doctors, always ensuring the room is set up and patients are ready for treatment. I started with Dental Professionals in 2018 and completed my training as a dental assistant in 2020. Over the past few years, I have gained so much knowledge from our doctors and team. I love learning the latest technology and watching the dental field evolve, as it is a never ending adventure! I am a Derby High School graduate currently attending Wichita State University to further my education in dental hygiene. When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy competitive sailing and playing guitar.

I am a Wichita State University Dental Hygiene graduate with an Associate Degree in Psychology. Forming relationships with my patients while helping them reach their goal of a healthy and beautiful smile is one of my favorite parts of my job. I am truly passionate about helping people with their dental needs. As a licensed provider, I assess a patient’s dental and overall health through X-rays and evaluation, educate on proper homecare and complete treatment planning. Much of my day is spent teaching patients about the connection between a healthy mouth and body. Together, we find home-care solutions that work with their life and specific concerns.

Outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband, three daughters, three sons and two dogs. I also enjoy reading, riding bikes, traveling and being outdoors as much as possible.

I enjoy getting to know my patients. I appreciate their different needs and desires, and I adapt my care to meet their needs and goals. It is important to me to make a positive, lasting difference in each patient’s life. My true goal is to educate people on how to improve and maintain their oral and overall body health. By teaching about the connection between the two and helping patients learn to make healthy choices, I am helping them improve their lives.

When I am not at work, spending time with my husband, two teenage daughters, and our five furry family members, is my priority. I also enjoy quiet time; expressing myself through home decorating, remodeling, gardening and landscaping; and listening to music.

I started working in the dental field immediately after graduating from Wichita State University in 2020 with two bachelors: chemistry and pre-dental, and dental hygiene. My job as a registered dental hygienist includes assessing a patient’s overall dental health through X-rays and evaluations, and educating patients on proper homecare for their teeth. I love building relationships with my patients! The best feeling is knowing I’ve changed an individual’s perspective of coming to the dentist to a pleasant experience. Everyone genuinely cares for our patients here, and are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do.

Outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband and our two children and Rottweiler, Titan. I enjoy watching sports, traveling and singing with my kids.

I began working in the dental field as an infection control intern in 2018 and trained as a dental hygiene assistant/receptionist in early 2020 after completing school. In 2020 I obtained my Bachelor of Science, Dental Hygiene, from Wichita State University. Go Shocks!! I was a member of the Student American Dental Hygiene Association and inducted into the Alpha Eta Honor Society.

Some of my clinical responsibilities are completing an oral assessment for each patient, providing customized care for each patient, and providing oral health care instruction. I enjoy getting to know my wonderful patients of all ages and seeing a positive change in their oral health!

I love working with our doctors. They are willing to teach and explain anything we ask about. We are all held to a very high standard which keeps us focused and motivated to be our very best, every day! We have a remarkable team, and I am proud to be a part of this dental family!

Outside of work I am usually spending time with husband, my cat or reading when I’m not behind the camera photographing families, weddings, or whatever the season brings!
